Device Settings Overview

The Device Settings page in Vesscomm allows you to configure various aspects within the platform. 



By selecting the gear icon from the navigation bar while viewing a specific device, you will access the following settings tabs:


1. Users

  • Add New User:
    • Enter the email address of the user you wish to add.
    • Select their role from the dropdown menu. Available roles include:
      1. Read Only
      2. Read and Write
      3. Manager
      4. Area Manager
      5. Admin
    • Click Add User to give them access.
    • They will receive an email invitation to the platform.
  • Manage Current Users:
    • View a list of current users with access to the device, along with their roles.
    • You can perform the following actions:
      • Send a test email or mobile push notification.
      • Remove User Access by clicking the corresponding button.
      • Toggle Email Notifications and Push Notifications on or off by switching the toggle between green (on) and red (off).

2. Check for New Sensors

  • Displays any unused sensor data that is not yet visible on the main sensor dashboard.
  • Click Check for Sensors to scan for any unassigned sensors.
  • To display a sensor's data, click Add Graph to include it on your sensor dashboard for your vessel.

3. Device Details

  • Here, you can customise various details related to your device:
    • Change Device Icon or upload a custom icon.
    • Update the Device Name.
    • Toggle the Static Asset setting if your asset is in a fixed location. You can then set its location on the map.
    • View the Owner’s Email Address.
    • Enter additional details such as Manufacturer, Make, Model, and Registration.
    • Click Save Changes to apply any updates.

4. Remote Hardware Configuration (only for VC-HUB or VC-PRO units)

  • This tab allows for remote configuration of the hardware. Available options include:
    • Adjust the Send Interval Time (1 to 5 minutes).
    • Modify the Acceleration Threshold (G).
    • Toggle Acceleration Send on or off.
    • Perform hardware actions such as:
      • Set Device Clock
      • Calibrate Accelerometer
      • Scan Network
  • You can also manually add a PGN (Parameter Group Number) by selecting it from a dropdown list, then adding the instance value and clicking Add PGN. Active PGNs will appear in the Active PGNs list and can be removed using the red bin icon.
