TABLE OF CONTENTS

The Sensor Dashboard is the first screen you encounter when selecting your vessel within the Vesscomm platform. It provides essential information about your device and its connected sensors.

Key Features of the Sensor Dashboard

  1. Device Information
At the top of the dashboard, you'll find key details about your device, including:

    • Device Name: This is the name you entered when adding the device.
    • Device Icon: Displays an icon representing your device.
  2. Sensor Status Icons
Across from the device information, there is a row of status icons for each connected sensor:

    • Green: Operating normally.
    • Amber: A warning is present for that data set.
    • Red: The sensor has detected a critical issue (e.g., critically low battery voltage).
  3. Connection Status
Beneath the sensor status icons, you'll find indicators for cell reception and GPS connection:

    • Green: Normal operation.
    • Amber: Warning about connection issues.
    • Red: Low connection quality.
    • Greyed Out: The feature is offline and has lost connection.
  4. Device Serial Number and Report Timestamp
The dashboard also displays the device's serial number and the timestamp of the latest report received.

Viewing Sensor Data

This sensor dashboard displays all connected sensor data. This can range from signal strength data, battery data, bilge level data, and much more depending on the sensor connection.

The graphs displayed for each sensor will display the title of the graph along with the latest reading.

You can analyse the data over different time periods by selecting from the following options:

  • 1 Hour
  • 24 Hours
  • 7 Days
  • 30 Days

For more specific date ranges, click on the “Pick” option to select a start and end date from a calendar view. Once you’ve chosen your dates, click “Fetch” to display the data for the specified range.

The horizontal dashed amber and red lines overlaying the graphs are the set threshold values for the upper warnings, lower warnings, upper faults and lower faults.

Comparing Sensor Data

To compare data from multiple sensors:

  1. Select the “COMP” option, which opens a menu for choosing the sensors to compare.
  2. A green tick will appear next to the selected sensors.
  3. Click “Compare” to generate a comparison graph.

You can adjust the date range for analysis as previously mentioned.

Additionally, several tools are available on the right side of each graph:

  • Zoom: Use the crosshair cursor to zoom in on specific timeframes by clicking and dragging over the graph.
  • Zoom Reset: Returns the view to the full dataset.
  • Switch to Line Chart: Displays the data as a line graph.
  • Switch to Bar Chart: Changes the display to a bar chart format.
  • Data View: Shows numerical data values instead of a graphical representation.
  • Save as Image: Download the current view as a PNG file.

Exporting Data

You can also download the data as a CSV file by selecting the “CSV” option, which allows for personal record-keeping and further data analysis.

Sensor Settings

To access sensor settings, click the gear icon on the sensor graph. This is used to adjust these sensor graphs and set the thresholds for the faults and warnings. For detailed information on sensor settings, please refer to our dedicated article.

GPS Location

On the right side of the dashboard, you’ll find the GPS location of your vessel, displayed on a map using the icon. You can zoom in and out to adjust your view, and toggle between map and satellite views using the button in the upper right corner.
