Overview of the Main Fleet Dashboard

Modified on Fri, 20 Sep at 2:39 PM

The Main Fleet Dashboard is the first screen you encounter upon logging into the Vesscomm platform. It provides a comprehensive overview of all your connected devices and vessels, offering key details at a glance for quick monitoring and management.

Key Features of the Main Fleet Dashboard:

  1. Device List:

    • All your connected devices / vessels are displayed in a list format, showing:
      • Device Name and Icon: Easily identify each vessel or device by its assigned name and icon.
      • Sensor Status Icons:
        • Green indicates normal operation.
        • Amber signals a warning.
        • Red means critical attention is required.
        • Greyed Out icons indicate the device or sensor is offline.
      • Signal and GPS Status Icons: Positioned below the sensor status icons, these show the current connection status for signal strength and GPS.
      • Device Serial Number: This is displayed beneath the status icons for quick reference.
      • Last Report Timestamp: This timestamp shows when the last report was registered by the device, allowing you to verify if the device is actively reporting data or if it may be offline or unconnected.
  2. Pinning Devices for Easy Access:

    • Next to each device name is a pin icon. Clicking this icon will "pin" the selected device to the top of your device list, which is especially useful for prioritising devices in environments with multiple connected vessels or devices.
  3. Search and Filter Options:

    • At the top of the device list, you’ll find a search bar that allows you to search for specific devices by name, which is helpful when managing a large fleet or multiple devices.
    • Next to the search bar is a filter drop-down menu with several options:
      • Pinned First (default): Displays pinned devices at the top of the list.
      • A-Z Name: Sorts devices alphabetically.
      • Z-A Name: Sorts devices in reverse alphabetical order.
      • Latest Report: Sorts devices by the most recent report timestamp.
      • Oldest Report: Sorts devices by the oldest report timestamp.
  4. Map View:

    • On the right side of the screen, you’ll see a Map View showing your device icons on a map.
    • Clustering is used when there is more than one vessel at a location. The number of vessels at that location is shown in the white circle.
    • Upon clicking on a device icon or cluster you will be zoomed into that location or vessel, where a snapshot of their sensors and latest notifications will be displayed. From here you can select the "Go To Device" button, which will take you to the dedicated device management pages.
    • Use the toggle button at the top of the map to switch between Map View and Satellite View.
    • The Recenter Button allows you to quickly refocus the map on all connected devices. If only one device is connected, it will center the map on that device.
  5. Support Access:

    • In the lower right-hand corner of the dashboard, there is a pop-out Support button.
      • From here, you can search for FAQs and knowledge base articles to find self-help answers for common issues.
      • You can also raise a support ticket through the support portal if you require assistance from the Vesscomm team.
