TABLE OF CONTENTS

The Sensor Settings in Vesscomm allow users to customise each sensor connected to their device. This includes adjusting the sensor name, setting notification thresholds, and granting user access to receive specific sensor alerts. By accessing the sensor settings via the gear icon on any sensor graph, users can fine-tune their sensor data and alert system.

Sensor Settings Tabs:

1. Sensor Details

This tab allows users to:

  • Rename the sensor graph: Manually enter a new name into the text box.
  • Select a graph icon: The selected icon will be green and will appear as the status icon for that sensor.
  • Set the sensor unit: Define the measurement unit for the sensor data (e.g., RSSI for signal strength).
  • Modify sensor data: Use the "Value Modifier" dropdown to add, subtract, multiply, or divide the sensor's data with a chosen numerical value.

To save changes, click on the “Save Changes” button.

  • Deleting a Sensor: If you want to permanently remove a sensor, select "Delete Sensor." This action cannot be undone.
    • If needed, the sensor can be re-added via the Device Settings page by searching for new sensors.

2. Notification Thresholds

This tab is used to configure when notifications are triggered for your sensor. You can set the following values:

  • Upper Fault
  • Upper Warning
  • Lower Warning
  • Lower Fault

These thresholds dictate when your sensor will show green, amber, or red status and will trigger a notification.

Faults are critical and will show as red, warnings will show as amber.

Make sure to click Save Changes to apply the new thresholds.

3. Additional Notifications

Here, users can create custom notifications. To add one:

  • Select Add Custom Notification.
  • Set the Low Value and High Value for the notification trigger.
  • Enter a name for the custom notification.
  • Choose the Hierarchy level (from 1 to 5, where 1 is Read Only and 5 is Admin).
  • Toggle the notification on/off for specific hierarchy levels.

To delete a custom notification, click "Delete." Save changes before exiting this tab.

4. Access / Notification Delivery

This tab allows users to:

  • Grant graph access to others who can view the device data.
  • Set the Hierarchy level for the user's access.
  • Toggle notification delivery on or off for selected users.

This feature provides fine control over who receives alerts and who can view the sensor data.
